Low Back Treatment: Finding Cure or Masking Symptoms?

A new survey by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) found surprising new facts about lower back pain sufferers in the United States.

The first one is no news for me – 61 percent of Americans experience low back pain through out their life. That’s almost two thirds the population. The second finding is also not a big shocker – 69 percent indicate than pain in lower back affects their daily activities and daily life (obviously).

Here’s the most surprising finding in my opinion: More than half of the low back pain sufferers never do anything other than treat the symptoms. 40% never even see a medical professional. Most people use ice or heat to treat their symptoms and a staggering 3 out of 4 people take over the counter or prescription medication.

Will Pain Killers Treat and Cure Your Lower Back Pain?

Sadly, in my experience, many people think that taking pills is an actual cure for low back pain.

Well, it’s NOT.

Pain killers simply kill pain (and often they don’t help at all). This is simply hiding your symptoms, sticking your head in the sand and ignoring the fact that every back pain has a ROOT CAUSE that must be treated, if you want to avoid being dependant on medication for life, or allowing the problem to become worse and worse every day.

Not to mention that pain killers, with or without prescription, can be very dangerous to your general health. Lower back pain pills can spike your blood pressure; they can cause permanent liver and kidney damage, not to mention how addictive they can become over time. If you want to find out about the 5 most dangerous ones – See this article.

What is the Root Cause of Most Types of Low Back Pain?

It’s essential that you understand that every pain and ache has a root cause. Taking pain killers, waiting for the problem to solve itself and trying a few stretches will NOT eliminate your problem. Just like with any other health problem, I would look for the reason for it, listen to my body and what it’s trying to tell me, and do what ever I can to help my body heal itself.

The root cause of most types of back pain (no matter if it’s muscle spasms, sciatica, herniated discs, arthritis etc) is muscle imbalances. These imbalances can be easily spotted and treated. Anyone can do it and you can too. This article will help you get started – Right now.

Take the first step to complete healing, I can’t describe the pure satisfaction of restoring your youthful and active life, especially by doing it yourself – Without pills and without surgery.

To you health,

Meital
